Let’s try to connect a i2c eeprom to the raspberry, since it is the only i2c device that I have in my drawer. Now it is time to test if the i2c bus and the driver is working. My plan is to is to try to use different WiFi card (other driver module) with this "stable" image and to try "upt-update" to check if my issue could be somehow related to 8192cu driver itself. If you followed my previous blog entry, you have a nice raspberry pi system with support for i2c.
RASPBERRY PI 8192CU DRIVER INSTALL
Then, even if I "manually" reinstall affected packages succesfully with "apt-get install -reinstall" (before that I am removing downloaded package from "archive" to allow to download package(s) again) a "reboot -rF now" shows root filesystem corrupted and not being bootable, some system files are being (re)moved.Īnyone has some clue on what can cause this issue? Install the driver First you have to the right driver (see Raspberry forum) for the Realtek RTL8188CUS chipset.
RASPBERRY PI 8192CU DRIVER HOW TO
How to install this on the latest Raspbian Wheezy image. Packages are being downloaded with no errors but during unpacking phase there appear errors for a few packages and whole update fails. After configuring my raspberry using various images (xmbc or mpd )with an ethernet connection, it’s time to make it wireless :) Bought an Edimax EW-7811UN wifi adapter for 11 Euro. Any attempt to do 'apt-get upgrade' from this image leads to FS corruptions. I have an image copy (with 8192cu driver installed) which is "stable" but this image is not updatable for now. The easiest way to install the driver is if the Pi has some form of internet access using : either a LAN connection or wifi connection. Among packages being updated there are firmware packages. The script can install the driver on a Pi that has no internet connection or on a Pi that : already has an internet connection, either using a wired LAN connection or another wifi : adapter. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. I have raspbian installed (current official build with some past 'apt-get upgrades') and once I'll try to update dist with use of 'apt-get upgrade' I am experiencing file system corruptions. The package provides the installation files for Realtek RTL8192FU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter Driver version 1030.32.201.2018. Anyway, I am glad that it would be possible.Įdit: BTW, recently I noticed some other strange issue and I am not sure if it is related to 8192cu driver itself or to the firmware or to something else. It may require somebody else participation. It sounds promising however I need to find out how to do it correctly and to understand a process laying behind and what would be related involvement.
